Training Topic: Poverty Alleviation

Participants: National Bureau of Statistics (NBS)

The session was designed to strengthen the capacity of stakeholders working at the intersection of poverty data, program design, and real-world impact.

I covered practical frameworks and tools that support effective poverty reduction efforts, including:

  • Understanding poverty drivers and how they differ across regions and demographics

  • Translating data into action: using evidence to shape policy and interventions

  • Designing poverty alleviation programs with clear target groups and measurable outcomes

  • Monitoring and evaluation approaches for tracking results and improving delivery

  • Coordination and stakeholder alignment to reduce duplication and improve impact

The training helped participants connect statistical insight with implementation realities, improving how poverty-focused programs can be designed, tracked, and strengthened for better outcomes.
